JOB WELL DONE!! Will and Drew battled brain and golf very well regardless of the final standings. They made coaches and parents proud!! Best of luck to all of our seniors and IVO as new opportunities are headed your way. All underclassmen.....keep swinging and see you next season!!!
Drew shot an 81 and is tied for 45th place of the 93 golfers in the field.
Will shot an 82 and is tied for 57th place of the 93 golfers in the field.
Congratulations to our two State Qualifiers! Drew and Will will tee it up at Silo Ridge Country Club in Bolivar, MO on Sunday (practice round), Monday and Tuesday!
Drew birdied the final hole at Kimbeland Country Club to shoot a very impressive 72 on the par 71 and finish tied for 3rd on the day. Will used a very good start to bring home a 74 and finish tied for 6th! Max had a challenging start and his season is now complete, but gained valuable experience as a freshman for years to come!
Congratulations to Drew, Will and Max on qualifying for the Sectional Tournament in Jackson, MO on May 6 at Kimbeland Country Club! Max (81) tied for 8th overall in the event and received a medal for his play!! Drew (83) tied for 15th and also was awarded a medal! Will (84) was one stroke from the medal stand, but the goal was to move on and that he did!! Golfers had to shoot an 87 or lower to advance.
Ivo (90) and Dean (98) also battled the weather and pressure, but came up a bit short. Congrats to Ivo on a great season and best of luck as he finishes this year at WGHS and heads back to Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain this summer!!!
For the first time since 2014, the Statesmen won the conference tournament at Aberdeen Golf Course in Eureka! It rained ALL day and we won by 17 over Ladue who finished 2nd of the 8 teams present. Will Ireland was the tournament medalist with an impressive 76. Drew shot 78 to finish in 3rd overall, Max cards a 79 to come in 4th place and Ivo brought in an 85 to secure a 10th place medal!! Dean and John also managed the rain and golf to complete the tournament team this year. Great job by all today!!!
WG finishes the season with a win over the Pirates! 10-3 on the match portion of our season. Drew and Max were tied with match medalist score! Caleb, John, Dean and Will were also in "costume" at Quail. Andrew and Jack have completed their high school sports life!!! Congrats and job well done!!!! Good luck to all seniors in the next phase of your life!
JV finishes a nice season with a win over Fox. Jackson, Ben, Julien, Devon, Fred, Adam and Thomas played in the final match at Quail. One Tournament left and their season is over!! Hard to believe!
The team ended the season with a very strong 11-1. A great match season by all who were involved!!
WG finished in 6th place of 17 teams present and 2nd behind Lafayette in the public school competition. Max led the way with an 88, Jackson (91) and Julien (91), Ethan (95) and Ben (96) were all in action at Aberdeen in Eureka.
WG finishes in 5th place of the 12 teams competing at Crown Pointe Golf Course in Farmington, MO. Will led the way with a 5th place individual medal after shooting a very good 78 on the day. Ivo, Caleb, Dean and Drew were also playing on the SOGGY, windy, cool day.
WG finishes 4th of the 14 teams competing. Julien beats out Adam for the final individual medal on a score card playoff as they both shoot an 89 on the day!! Ben, Ethan and Devon were also in action at Paradise Valley Golf Course. NICE WORK guys!!!
Drew shot a medalist round of 39 as WG won over both Northwest and Affton at Fox Run Golf Club. Never seen course, thick rough and firm fast greens were a challenge for all. Will, Ivo, Dean, Max, and John made up the team total. Caleb and Andrew were also in action. Season record is now 9-3.
JV was led by Jackson and pulled to a victory over Ladue by Devon's solid round at The Highlands. Ben, Julien, Ethan, Thomas, Fred and Adam were all in action against the Rams. Season record is now 9-1.
WG finished in 14th place of the 24 teams competing. A 1 hour delay for fog and frost made it a tough start for all golfers, no driving range to warm up didnt help either! Drew was one stroke from medal contention shooting a solid 79 on the day. Will, Ivo, Caleb and John were all a part of the event. Marquette swept the day winning the team championship as well as having the individual medalist, who won on the 4th playoff hole.
WG falls 7 strokes behind Fox and lost a match at The Legends Country Club in Eureka. Strong winds, challenging course and trying to beat the rain were a few hurdles to jump as well as playing well. Will was match medalist once again with a solid score of +5 on the round. Drew, Max, Ben, Caleb and Andrew rounded out the team score. Ivo and John also played but their scores were not used in the team total. VERY busy week for varsity next week with 2 tournaments and 2 matches. JV has one match and one tournament.
MAX BOLAND wins individual medalist at the event!! BEN ALLISON places 4th after a tie for 3rd was broken by scorecard playoff. Thomas, Julien, Jackson and Adam were also in the tournament at Normandie Golf Course.
Statesmen get the Pioneers by 6!! Solid rounds from co-medalist Drew (39), Will (40), Ivo and Max (41) led the way! Dean, Caleb, John and Jack were also in action against KW. 5-2 on the seasosn.
A different format was used at the Pattonville Tournament.......1 stroke golfer and 2-2man scramble teams comprise the team total.
Jackson played the individual stroke play position and shot an 86
Max and Ben tied for 3rd overall with a scramble score of 72! Julien and Adam shot a scramble score of 85 to help WG finish 5th of the 18 teams present!
WG takes care of the Panthers. Will shoots a solid +2 on the day and is match medalist. Drew, Ivo, Dean, John, Adam, Andrew and Jack all played in the match.
WG was able to finish ahead of Seckman, but NO one was beating Lafayette on this day of golf! Statesmen were led by a trio: Ivo, Will and Dean all shot 43 with Drew and Max rounding out the team total. Caleb played, but score was not used in the total. Max was playing his first varsity match ever and did well and learned some things that should help in the next 3 years!! The team is now 3-2 on the season.
JV stays on their winning ways! Ben and Jackson lead the way as the team is now 5-1 on the season. Ethan, Julien, Devon, Thomas, Fred were all in action.

Ladue was the host at The Highlands at Forest Park. Ladue played well and WG finished behind the Rams but ahead of the Falcons. Drew led the way with a medalist round of +3, with Will right behind him at +4. Ivo, Dean, Caleb and John completing the team total. Adam and Jack were also in action. Team is now 2-1.
JV finished ONE stroke behind Lutheran South and ahead of Parkway West on a cool, windy and wet Quail Creek Golf Course. Max continues his solid play and was the match medalist for the second time this season. Jackson, Ben, Julien, Fred, Ethan, Thomas and Devon were all in action for WG.
WG finished in 10th place of the 16 teams in the field. Having the later tee times proved a challenge as there was rain, weather delays and challenging conditions to finish the day in. Will and Ivo (85) led the way in scoring. Drew (88) and John (89) completed the team score of 347. Dean (91) and Ivo played in their first ever WG 18 hole event!
JV gets it done against the Colts and Jaguars!! 3-0 on the season so far........Jackson was the match medalist with a nice 42. Max and Ben continue good play early, Devon and Julien rounded out the team score. Thomas played, but his score was not used in the team total.
Both levels of golf were in action for the first time, on the best day of the season so far!! JV were big winners at Northwest playing on Deer Creek Golf Course. Max was the match medalist with a very good 40 on the day in his first competitive round in high school golf!! Fellow freshman Ben and returning golfer, Julien tied with the next best scores on WG. Ethan, Jackson and Devon rounded out the scoring in match 1. Thomas and Fred also played, but their scores were not used in the team total.
Varsity played Parkway West, Drew (40) and Will (41) set the tone from the start in group one. Solid rounds by two new comers to the program, freshman Dean (45) and sophomore Ivo (46) put the match away. John (49) and Adam (51) finished out the team scoring. Caleb and Andrew were also in action but their scores were not used in the team total.
