Announcements and Important Events
Summer 2019: Most of our sports programs will have opportunities for their athletes to participate in this summer. Our goal this year is to have our sport specific calendars for the summer ready to advertise by spring break. Some coaches already have them set if you would like to check with them.
Saturday, June 29th through Sunday, July 7th will be our MSHSAA summer athletic dead period. During this time none of our high school sports programs will be allowed to schedule any activities including practices, camps, scrimmages, weight room, or other types of workouts. This is an ideal time to plan family trips or vacations without having to worry about missing any activities.
Monday, August 12th will be the first day for all fall sports practices and tryouts.
Tuesday, August 13th will be the first day of school for the 2019-20 school year.
The summer athletic dead period and the first day for fall sports are different from what you may remember in recent years. This is due to 2019 being a “roll-back” year for the MSHSAA calendar that has pushed the fall sports start date back into the same week that we will start school. Instead of placing our athletic dead period during the week before the beginning of fall sports like in years past, we have decided to move it earlier in the summer since all of the coaches and a lot of students will already be back preparing for school the week before school starts.
